Different size mem sticks ?

Hi i'm new to the fourm so plz be gentle with me,
i currently have 2 512 geil pc6400 sticks in duel chanel and am looking @ getting 2 1gb sticks of geil pc6400 to add to the system and was wondering if this would cause problems mixing different size sticks.

system is

Asus p5w dh deluxe
C2d E6700
8800 gts
2 raptors in 0 raid
hyper 580 type r
win xp 32 but will be get vista next week

It wont matter as long as you put them in the right slots.

1GB in each of slots 1 and 2, 512MB in each of 3 and 4.

shouldnt it be the 1GB in slots 1&3 and the 512 sticks in 2&4 so that the 2 512s are on same colour slot and the 2 1GB sticks are in the same colour

Just match the colours. Some boards are different to others.

FYI on most mobos the slots are technically in the order of 1 3 2 4
