Just realised im running 2 x 4gb corsair vengeance 1866 with 2 x 2gb corsair xms3 1600

I have not noticed any problems with it any body else have a similar setup?

I guess the 1866 will just be brought down to the 1600 speed?

Wonder if it would run better with the 2 x 2gb 1600 sticks removed?

Depends what you are doing. If gaming some games use over 8GB so i would advise to say with 12GB but if you are playing older you may see a slight gain by having faster. To be honest from what i remember it when this has popped up before it tends to be best to keep more ram. But if you have time, benchmark the pc with the different sizes.

No don't remove it, if you are playing any AAA title from the last year or two you'll be very close to 8GB or over it, BF 1 and Forza Horizon both have me over 8GB. If you want you could just run it at 1866mhz with the highest timings of either set and it'll probably be fine, you can run Memtest from a USB bootable and or HCI Memtest to be sure.

Ok thanks prob just leave as it is, because at the min there is a 212x heatsink blocking the first Xms stick!
