Different types of RAM in same computer?

I currently have 32GBs of DDR4 3000Mhz RAM but I don't know who made it or what the specific RAM timings are. Could I just order another 32GB of DDR4 3000Mhz RAM and just pop it into the computer and everything will work fine?

What happens if the two RAM timings are different? Sorry I haven't upgraded the RAM in one of my computers in years so I'm really rusty.

FPGA development. The dev tools require 32GB of RAM just for them. I mean I could probably live with 48GBs of RAM but 64GB seems to be a bit more future proof.

Edit: I use a lot of virtual machines as well.
