Differing Bus speeds

Heres the thing.
I'm running my E6600 @3.4 (stress testing at the moment no idea if stable)

when viewing CPU-Z it tells me correctly that my core speed is 3400 MHZ

when I look at "core temp" my bus speed is 3825 and the same with "Orthos" and my system prefs. Whats happening here? Am I missing something?

I've set my multiplier at x8, FSB @ 1700 so should be at 425 MHz which gives me 3.4GHz right?

RAM @ 850MHz (DDR so also 425 right?)

I new at this and from the reading I've doen these should be best settings I think. It booted at 3.6 but I thought I'd take it back a little as its first time for me :)

sorry about larg image but I have dual monitors and screeny take both :(

The lowered multiplier confuses a lot of software. Look at your Windows System properties and even it's confused.

They assume that you're using the default multiplier (x9) and calculate the system speed from it.

CPU-Z of course is right.

Thanks mate!

It confused me too :p

does this look ok to you then?

the temps were a tad high to start but over an hour into Orthos they are keeping to around 56/57

The temps aren't too bad. Just keep an eye on them if you raise your vcore higher.
