Not much difference. Sometimes the PCB is a different colour, and the coolers definitely vary, you should read reviews and look into it. The most important difference is probably the warranty and where they are UK based or not. In this regards, MSI and gigabyte both have excellent reputations and UK based warranties.
The ones with better power regulation and phases than stock will overclock much better such as MSI lightening, ASUS Direct CU Tops etc etc. These often have improved coolers tool that run colder and quieter.
If your not overclocking then reference design is fine.
