Difficulty Powering On

Hi Gang,

My PC, with the below specs, has an issue turning on, be that from cold or from sleep. This started around 4 months ago and initially it was when it was just coming out of sleep but then progressed to be all the time.

When you press the power button on the case I get a very brief display of life (LEDs and fans briefly) and the typical 'relay click'. It takes around 15-20 goes of removing the power cable and waiting 10s before it does finally come to life, however if it then goes in to standby then the same process follows. When it is on though, it is stable and I can load up each component to the max without issue, even restarts are fine. Also, if left for several days then it may actually start first time...

I have completely stripped the rig down and rebuilt it and also tried just shorting the pins on the motherboard and I get the same behaviour.

Unfortunately I don't have any spare components to test with.

Specs (All stock):
Rizen 5 3600
ASUS ROG B550-F WiFi motherboard
32 GB DDR4 3600MHz 8-Pack RAM
Sapphire Nitro+ VEGA 64
Phanteks Revolt Pro 1000w PSU

Hey, thanks for the response.

Just a quick update, I actually had a PSU jump starter with my water pump and the PSU does start each time without issue.

I then stripped the build back to just the power and bare motherboard, it worked. Long story short after a process of elimination I think I have pinned it down to the ARGB header. If the ARGB header is disconnected then I can power on reliably each time, if its connected then I just get the brief flash of power. If I power the machine on and then connect the ARGB header it cuts off straight away. So, its either the motherboard or the case, although I do think its the motherboard because it does it when connected either to the front panel's RGB of the case's internal RGB strip.

Just another quick update that voids the above!

I have put the machine back together, minus the RGB stuff and the issue has returned.
