Can someone help.........I have set up the BT Voyager wireless modem/router with a Phillips 802.11g wireless laptop card, works fine, untill I try and set up encryption, it wont work with WEP or WPS. Is there some 'secret' to setting the 2 up together?
I was led to believe that WEP only works with matched pairs of modem/router to wireless card, and that WEP is not as good as WPS anyway.
So, can someone give me a step by step guide to the settings on each device to enable some sort of encryption. The BT Voyager book tells you absolutely nothing about encryption setting.
Also, what exactly does this encryption do for you, and, how 'dangerous' is it if you do not set any encryption at all, just setting a permitted MAC address of the card.
