Yea, sorry about that. I have heard it or read it somewhere. I know I would not make something like this up. It may have been this months GAME or EDGE. I will dig them out again and have a look.

I remember quite well as I remember thinking, no way would this happen as it would not work, and also, well, that it would not affect PC gamers as we would just play on the dedi servers as we have always done. then I heard this news and thought 'uho'.

If they did introduce it would probably have a premium account sort of model. However I do not agree with such a thing.

Will try and look for source now and post something if I find it.

Of course it will still sell, i will be buying it. TBH a game with people that are equally matched to me with little to no change in performance will suit me just fine!

Something I never thought about, and quite a good point; it wouldn't suprise me to see MW2 without a console.
 
the 1 think i would like , but probably will not happen have server system like cs:s with dedicated servers. so u have VAC preventing playing illegally as they say and have us users happy

Like WoW, MW2 has been made to specially cater the 'casuals'.

Those buying, have fun constantly going through the ranks.
 
i wouldnt take much notice of that "game informer" dribble tbh, would like to see some sort of proof for a source to this bloggs conclusion.

seems like somone trying to add more fuel to the fire.
 
I think on the 360 the battlefield games use a hybrid of matchmaking and dedicated servers.

I played bf 1943 a lot on the 360 in 12v12 games and never had a bit of lagg, games were never ended mid game and it seemed a very solid setup.

If Bad Company works on the pc like it does on consoles it wouldn't worry me as long as it has 32 player support.

The IW system does worry me though.

This is the whole key to the issue sadly. By catering to the casuals they are more likely to sell more copies. They don't care about longevity. That's what developing a new game for us to pay yet more money is about. The fact that they took ideas from the modding community and injected them into the game without crediting them is pretty **** poor.

I personally hate the browserless style of entering a game and without dedicated servers we are going to be reduced to crappy jerkovision from unreliable connections.

As it stands I see me cancelling my pre-order simply because I don't like this style and worrying trend towards ignoring the die hard communities in favour of the "meh" gamers.
 
Sorry cannot find source for my proclamation that IW want to charge for IWnet. So please disregard my statement.

They haven't said how it will work though, it could well take kdratios into effect, unless you are weird and only like playing with your group of nerd friends (clan) then this will probably turn out to be very good!

I have played on BF2 with over 200ping with my friend in another part of the country with also 200ping and we were having dog fights like normal, yet you get people who will be adamant that anything over 50ping is horrific.
