What I really dislike is that the system that will force you into game based on skill level.

You'll just have people reverse grinding. - constantly messing up games for people to ensure they loose, to get ranked down. Then destroy teams of newbies in later games.

having perfectly matched players isn't always good. Every game needs cannon fodder. so a mixture of skills makes things a lot more fun.

Nah by and large matchmaking measures skill well. Yes there are exceptions. I think there is only one thing people are concerned about. Not being able to pick servers with 24/7 maps, not being able to use mods, having to pay for DLC, more issues with clan games. It's all small potatoes really. The one thing that concerns us is LAG.

Even if you have the most fantastic game in the world, all the options and customisation you can dream of, and what's better this game has free DLC. If it's laggy it will be no fun to play. Simple as that.

Personally, after a little reading I'am thinking the lag issue could be just fine. People spouting the "consoles don't notice lag as much, because of controllers vs precise keyboard and mouse" need to pipe down. Any good consoler has the sensitivity cranked right up on the sticks, and it's almost as quick (nowhere near as precise mind) as a mouse. This system works fine on consoles, and whilst not ideal. It should work fine on PC too. Thus the only sore point left is, is this the way of PC games from now on? Who knows, but those worried should just man the f up, and buy a console.

C'mon Goldfingers thats nonsense regarding a joypad being almost as quick/sensative to a mouse. They are no where near even remotely close. I'd go with a safe estimate of 4x slower for consoles.

First person shooter games on consoles just can't compare, low frame rate, low accuracy.

OMG, is that their response ?

For god sake, its just simply moving the code from mw1 to mw2 and add some changes to it.... thats all.

Thing is he is saying the whole way of working the servers is too hard. I remember when COD came out, when I was a pretty young kid, I worked it out in a minute (first ever online experience and someone very much from the ''ps2'' gen), if all else fails, click on something, it will work!

If they wanted to ''fix'' it, why not work out a more simple way of browsing for a server? E.g, select preferences, filter, gogogo

Well the last 15 years hasn't been a problem. I mean millions upon millions have people have not had a problem connecting to Quake, Half-Life 1, Counter-strike, Team Fortress Classic, Unreal Tournement, Soldier of Fortune, Call of Duty 1, Half-Life 2, Counter-Strike: Source, Call of Duty 2, Team Fortress 2 & Call of Duty 4, to name but a few.

Tbh as I approach 30 (in 3 years time :p) I actually don't care anymore. I cancelled the cod 6 pre-order. At leasdt now I won't have to buy a new processor every 24 months or new G card every 12 months. My Pc can now last 10 years!!!!!!!!

I can just buy the odd title on PS3, admittedly I will not buy IW products again, if they do indeed drop dedi server support and mods.

we'll see! Anyway, who is saying there can't be dedicated servers? Basically instead of server code, just host a game on a server

That means more money will need to be spent as you will need a copy of a game for EVERY server that you run to stop the keycodes clashing, also means 1 player slot of the servers will be taken up blah blah blah you get the idea :p

Depends on weather the host machine can assign remote admins and it will need 3d acceleration to run the game itself too. As far as i'm aware this isn't always present in server machines. (i have little to no direct experiance with dedi servers so i could be very wrong)

Worst thing is they dont care about the PC gamer... all the money is in consoles! We are more of a hindrance than anything!

Just to let you know, there's too much text under your sig, it should only be one line no longer than the 400 px image limit
