I am thinking of buying one of these:

MUSTEK DV 9300 multifunction camcorder

Tis only cheap, as I cannot afford much and what to get video footage of my kids onto the pc and edit it, does anyone have any idea how long a 1GB card would last for if it was used for video footage?

I want some sort of cheap video camera to record myself scoring amazing goals, then I want to make a video with all my "best moments" and put a cool sound track behind it... then put it on youtube and become an instant success
