Digital camcorder question

Dad has one of these and is using an old PC to edit on it, noticed it doesn't capture audio at all, just connected via USB though it does have a DV out and A/V out.

Has he connected it up wrong or should audio transfer with the video?

I'd say something's wrong with his setup. Audio should come through just fine with either USB/firewire if it's configured properly.

Editing raw DV files even on a fast machine though can require some patience, as they are bloody huge...

yeah and his PC isn't fast! I'll grab the camera and try it on mine I was sure it should be capturing audio too. Cheers!
