Digital download games and HDD space

Just wondering as I'm new to downloading games (legally :p )

So I download the game files and the game gets installed, Does this mean that the game is taking up double the HDD space compared to the game being installed from a CD/DVD?
 
Nope, whichever service you're using to download the game files should either roll them into the game install or should delete them after it has finished with them. It isn't "downloading and installing" in the traditional separate sense.

This. Also some might leave a download files, but worst case scenario it will either be in your downloads or in your desktop, right click delete :D
