Ok, weird one here

PC1 = Audigy2ZS I play Analog but wont do Digital ok?

( PC1 has Altect Lansin 955 and PC2 has Altec Lansing 251 Speakers ok? )

So, I move the A2ZS up to PC2

I then move the XFI Fatality down to PC1

Ok, now, toying about earlier on, on PC2, I notice that the main speakers are not playing but the rear and bass ones are, so, I fiddle with the connections just in case but they dont cure, and so I alter the speaker setup to stereo and then back but again, not helping, and for a laugh, I enable Digital and wahey, it plays... Its never done that before?

So, I plop the speakers back into where they should go and all 5.1 speakers are playing nicely through Digital on the Audigy 2 ZS and the Altec Lansing 251 speakers!!!

So, can I do this on the XFI and 955 setup ?

Can I buggery?

Now, the 955 speakers have got a Digital LED indicator on them, so they should take a digital signal surely and yet the only sound I have had out of them is white noise

Any one understand WTF Im on about?

If so, can you possibly point me in the right direction to get Digital out of my Digital speakers?

TA!

Someone kick me in the head please.

NEVER have I ever been able to use SPDIF / Digital output on any of my cards without it sounding all cruddy and all of a sudden I get both my main PCs to do it?

I have selected SPDIF before, so why both of them do it now?

Has there been a recent update to the soundcards or something?

Both the Audigy 2 ZS and the XFI Platinum ( Both Win 7 - 64Bit ) failed to do it up to 2 days ago then one went in yesterday and the other I just re-tried 10 minutes ago and now Im listening to strange brew in digital at last!

Weird.

Then again, I just plugged the headphones in and then back out and guess what?

I cannot get it to play Digitally again?

FMSWAB FFS!!!
