Looking to get my mum one for xmas, something about 8inch and under £100.

But are they any good? Is the viewing angle crappy? Hmm, im not so sure...
 
The only one even remotely worth looking at is the Philips ones.

They've got a much better resolution. I've seen some 8" frames which run 800x600 or 640x480 resolution which looked terrible.

The Philips ones just seem so much better.

I would think 640x480 would be ok at 7inch tho, but im more worried about viewing angle and backlight.

I dont want to spend a fortune, was looking at this one Cibox DPH3070A
 
This should come as standard on LCD/plasma screens. Just a slot for memory cards, a button and the hardware inside.

Why not?
