I'm thinking of getting a digital SLR some time in the near future (next few months) and was wondering which to get? I would like a basicish one that isn't too expensive but has lots of options with it. Having a look on here the Nikon D50 seems to be the best basic camera, are there any others I should think about looking at, in a similar price range.

What lenses should I think about looking for as well. A 18-55 mm lense seems to come as standard, which I assume is a basic all round lense for everyday shooting. I would also like a lense for shooting stuff at a bit of distance, such as motorsport. What size would you suggest, a 55-200 or a 55-300, or another one all together?

A major competitor (that better ;) ) do a kit with a D50 with a 18-55 and sigma 55-200 lense for about £550, would that be a resonable starting point?

Also could anyone point me to a decent but easy to follow internet guide to Adobe CS2?

Thanks

Go into a shop and ask to play with the D50 and Canon 350D, then decide, about the sigma lens, google reviews for it.
The 18-55mm kit lens with the D50 doesn't really give much zoom, but it's quite wide angle, so I would get a 200 or 300mm zoom if you can afford it.
