Yo!

I'm trying to get my sound card (Audigy) to output a digital signal to my surround sound amp. I've done this before using media player and SPDIFER and it worked great, but with the same software this time (after a re-format) I can't remember exactly how I did it. I'm using the 3.5mm SPDIF/COAX output into my amp but all I ever seem to get is the PCM light but no DD or DTS on my amp and all my encoded films are coming out in pro logic which isn't right.

Any ideas?

yeah I know they won't encode DD/DTS. But my problem is that when I try to play a DD encoded file, I get only pro logic or stuttering hiss. Do you use this method? What software/codecs/plugins/settings/media player do you use?

I'm using AC3 filter too with MPC. I'm just trying out a ac3/44khz/5.1 song file which just gives me either stuttering hiss or a reboot :(

Have tried all various options in spdifer and ac3filter to no avail

XP SP2, why?

Also, why does it show '4/4.1 Surround sound' as my only speaker choice in the windows sound control panel?
