Dilema

Basically i have a sky box and dish (2 cables) and a 32" tv. Now i haven't been able to split the normal TV aerial yet, but my uncle told me i can plug one of the sky leads into the aerial connection on the tv and it will receive the Digital etc..

However i have tried this and neither cables bring in anything. :confused:

He has it done that way, witht he cable straight into the back of the tv and his works, recives digital and everything ! :eek:

what going on, is my uncle a magian or something. :rolleyes:

Any idea's or what im doing wrong.

Some TVs have built in Freesat receivers, sounds like his has and yours doesn't (it's not that common)

Looks like your uncle has freesat built into his tv!

You'll need a sky box, ebay is the best place to get a cheap one.

ihave a sky box, but atm its being a **** and keeps giving me the message, insert you card blah blah blah, even tho it's in.

There are many LG TVs with it built in by the looks of it. There are also many without it.

Tried cleaning the card, putting it in the other way (upside down or back to front?) Tried rebooting the box?

You could go and buy a freesat box if its really bothering you that much.

If you have sky+ it needs both cables so you can record 2 things at once or watch one channel while recording another

Av lead out of (I think) rf out2, if you google that you should be able to find what you need from there.

The previous owners of our house had the kitchen and bedroom wired up via an aux cable in the lounge, into a splitter in the roof then down and over, granted you can only watch whats on in the lounge (or the loung box if the lounge tv is off) but its handy enough
