Hi

I semi-hijacked another thread with this question, but thought it proper form to start a new thread.

I'm in the planning stages of a full WC loop and extensive mod project based on an In Win 901 case and I need to be millimeter-accurate with all of my measurements. And EK's lack of dimensions on their site is throwing me off somewhat.

I'm looking to carry over my existing Titan and fit it with the EK-FC780 GTX Ti Acetal block but I don't know if I have sufficient height to squeeze it in. Could anybody tell me how far above the PCB does the FC Terminal extend?

I would assume the replacement plexi version is the same size as the standard-issue one, and I've seen build logs use 19mm diameter fittings which are flush to the top edge. Allowing for 2mm offset from the PCB that would make the terminal 21mm tall from the PCB.

21mm will fit :)

If it's any bigger than that then the project is off

I hope somebody can help so the other work hasn't been for naught.

Cheers

Not sure which dimension you wanted measuring so I measured a bunch.

I assumed you meant FC Bridge as that is what GK110 blocks use.

Cheers Disco_P.

That's not quite what I was after as that Bridge system converts the older CSQ blocks to the more modern port style. However working with your red and orange measurements is encouraging that I may have space.

Thanks again.

It's 25mm unfortunately :(

Right, here's a mental idea.

I want to make my own FC Terminal that's the size I need :D

I don't want to tread on any EK industrial toes here, but from looking at the plexi terminal on the EK web shop, it looks like the single block of plexi has just been milled out to have a pair of 15mm x 4mm ports countersunk a bit for some gaskets and 2 11.8mm holes punched through with G1/4 threads.

So half-asleep logic would say if the existing FC terminal is 25mm with 11.8mm holes in it, that's 13.2mm of material that could be shaved down (6.6mm on each side). I'd need to get that down to 4.6mm on each side.

Is it really that simple? Am I insane? Should I give up on this, even though giving up on this GPU block means scrapping the entire project?

Could you get one of the blocks like mine and some angled fittings or clever tubing runs and make it fit?

Unfortunately your Bridge block extends further out than the Terminal block, so that's a no-no too.

Unfortunately because of the space available, where I'm putting in stuff and my own sense of aesthetics, I have a very specific loop order in mind I can't really deviate from.

So essentially unless I rectify my GPU block issue (I'm looking into milling my own, shorter, Terminal block) I'm shelving this particular project :( :(

EK Luc:

Any chance you could confirm the full height of the FC780 GTX Ti and FC-Titan XXL waterblocks please, including the FC Terminal? I'm a little confused by the measurements listed by other block manufacturers that seem to fit OK but visually appear the same size as your blocks. Add to that the Titan only ever comes as a reference PCB, I'm not sure what to make of it all.

As you may have noticed, I'm doing everything I can to stick with EK blocks for this project :D

However the bridge block and the block underneath are removable and therefore you can have a much thinner card.

The green and red lines show the different "blocks" that I have attached the the actual waterblock. In purple I have tried to show where the ports are if you don't use the "blocks"

Thanks Disco_P, however the big sticking point is I'm planning parallel flow with the CPU and GPU (aesthetic and available space) so I need 4 ports on the GPU, not 2, and the original CSQ design doesn't fit my needs.

I am looking at alternative tubing routes, alternative blocks and even milling my own FC Terminal.

Hopefully I'll have some progress soon.

I don't have these blocks with me so I don't know their dimensions sorry :(

I will ask around to see if I could get the answer you need.

Thread revival!

EK Luc, did you manage to get any dimensions of the FC Terminal? After months of meticulous planning I'm about to pull the trigger on a few parts.

Cheers

It's been a while sorry and never had any news from the people who might have what you need. :(
