Dinner Set Recommendations

Looking a new dinner set, does anyone have any recommendations?

Not really wanting mugs/cups, as I have loads, plates, bowls & side plates

Looking to spend £40-50 max!

A little more information for us to go on would be handy.

What colour do you want? What shape are you looking for? Does it have to match an existing set? How many settings do you want? Does it have to be dishwasher-proof? Do you want porcelain or stoneware?

Assuming you want white, round, four place-settings and aren't bothered about the rest, my current favourites (I buy a lot of crockery...) are these.

Le Vrai Gourmet by Debenhams @ £31.80

And before you ask, yes - they are quite similar. But then I don't like plates with rims and I prefer a wider cereal/soup bowl. YMMV on both points.

Yes glitch that was rather vague! I'm quite into plain designs, didn't think I wanted square plates but will consider them, the fitting in the cupboard would be much easier!

The debenhams set looks good, especially at the price reduction if that's correct. Are most sets in twelves? I was hoping for maybe eighteens so I have a few extra if I have any guests round

we have Denby white, very replaceable if you break any, and very stylish (well in my opinion) we use the pasta bowls for most things and the big dinner plates for visitors or sunday lunches.

They do look elegant but maybe a little out of my price range

Square plates can make your dishes look much nicer. Easier to store as well.

Still got half a set of these as well, which are very well made, I just keep breaking them.

I do shop elsewhere. Sometimes.

The Gordon Ramsey ones have excellent reviews and that price is super cheap, half the price of a popular rainforest store!

thank you for the replies and recommendations, after reading up on some of the sets and looking for the best price i have ordered some of the Royal Dalton Gordom Ramsey ones, with 4 extra pasta bowls!

Looking forward to them arriving, will update with pics!
