Dinosaurs are not real :(

I know an awful lot of religious people of varying denominations and religions.....not a single one ascribes to nonsence literalism such as described in the OP.

It is extremely disingenuous to assume that the views stated by the OP's friend are indicative of religious people as a whole.

There are many creationists in my college, probably more than at my last school which was Catholic. Anyway, I usually just laugh and ignore them but it can be quite infuriating. I would never bother with confronting them though, I really suck at Biology.
I can't be bothered to share any care about these half wits. The thing is though, a lot of Christians are Christian by blood. Hardly any of them that I have spoken to have had any kind of reasoning for their beliefs.

I was considering posting something along these lines earlier, but couldn't be bothered with the ensuing GD argument. Thanks :)

Blind faith.

Like they say, 1 person believe in something they call him crazy, 10 people is a cult but a million people they call it a religion.

I have my suspicions that dinosaurs where actually invented by man, that man used moulds to create the fake bones and then pretend to find them.

Your suspicions are baseless and moronic. Why on earth do you believe that?

I know an awful lot of non-religious people of varying backgrounds and levels of education..... barely a single one ascribes to the logical approach such as described in your post.

It is extremely disingenuous to assume that the views stated by yourself are indicative of non-religious people as a whole.

This chap cannot prove without a doubt that there were no dinosaurs, neither can anyone prove without a doubt that the fossils are 30 whatever million years old. Christianity isn't about whether there are dinosaurs or not. You will always get the typical 'lolreligion' threads in GD. I don't see any reponses like 'lolcarbondating' - neither can be proved beyond doubt.

Just as it is to assume that the views of the people you know are indicative of religious people as a whole.

Its not a million though is it (sadly) because the Pastafarians (the ones that worship the flying spaghetti monster) have got their religion recognised by the EU and can were their religious headgear (a coulinder) on driving licenses/passports in some EU countries >.> :P

What would these people's answer be if the little green men do turn up? What would be the argument to the statement in the bible that man is made in god's image?

That would depend entirely on the Extraterrestrials and what you interpret is meant by 'God's Image'.......

God only knows what Conservative Literalists will make of it all tbh......

"No Nathaniel, they are not Demons....They are Martians...". springs to mind.

We have a guy at work whose beliefs sound identical to the person at the start of this thread. Earth is only a few thousand years old, evolution doesn't happen etc. He once said that humans are the result of intelligent design. When another workmate asked why this "intelligent design" included the appendix which is a redundant organ like he didn't have an answer.
