Right, having rode my mates GSXR750 today I need to get my bike license sorted asap! I've always been one for fast cars, having scoobys, evo's, supra's etc. Recently purchased a Focus RS and loving the car but pulled over on a quiet road earlier and my mate gave me a go on his GSXR750. A few blasts up to 3 figure speeds (private road) and I'm hooked. I've not much experience on bikes, had a few off roads, KX250 etc but picked up riding the Gixer pretty quickly.

Basically want to do the quickest test possible to get my license. The cash is waiting so that's no problem, just no idea what course to go for? I've got 11 days off around the april bank holidays if that would be any use? Previously done my CRB but it expierd years ago.

Any help much appreciated. Dissapointed in myself as I've always been a car man and well against bikes (fathers influence :p) but after riding that today I've got to have one....

There is a motorcycle section btw, no doubt this will get moved eventually!

any way, onto your question.

If you want it ASAP, have the money, and the plus of having previous experience, then you should be able to complete a intensive DAS course easily.

I done a 4 day intensive course (restricted though not DAS as i am 20 (was 19 at the time)), first day CBT (not CRB hah), third day MOD1, fourth day MOD2.

Luckily i passed all first time, so i went from never having ridden a motorcycle before to have a full (well restricted, but same tests) motorcycle license.

Since you have experience you should be fine doing an intensive course (aslong as your good under pressure for the tests).

Word of warning though, if you fail any of the tests this can be very costly in rebooking tests etc.

As said, contact a local riding school and book an intensive course for when you have the time off April way.

One advantage of the schools is they often book out test dates in advance so you can don't have to do much of the legwork contacting the dsa and booking etc :)

Quiet road or private road , make your mind up ?

On reading your post and your reason for wanting a high powered sportsbike i.e. speed , with 'not much experience of bikes' , I'm afraid you are an accident waiting to happen.

Stick with cars and live longer as it would appear you have no respect for the capabilities of modern sportsbikes.

theory > Cbt > direct access is the only way to go if your after a powerful bike, altho you may just be classed as another one of those statistics, if your really into them get a cbt buy a 125 give it 6 months. If your still alive go for the direct access! =)

Same advice as everyone else. I did mine through a fast track system where you do it all in a week.

Worked out really well, was a bit more expensive though.
