Anyone got any definitive answers yet when they will be released ?
will the highend be released before win7 is released or just after ?

OCUK are willing to give me refunds for both my 4890s but im unsure is i should go ahead and send them back...

if i have to wait ages and ages i dunno if i should just keep them ect lol

after all no one knows what performance these cards will be either.

tbh the first set of cards of a new dx version is uselly crap.

i can't see any reason in buying one of the first set of the cards, if your currant cards do everything u want them to do then just keep them.

Not a topic change at all. You said the first set of cards for a dx are crap.

Didn't mention from who'm.

Also the G80 cards were very good for DX10, they're still very good.

At any rate if the OP wants to buy a DX11 card from ATI he can do so, I'm sure review sites will post some numbers vs current cards once they have them.

the thread is about ATI , no mention of nvidia. so my post would be of course about ati..

i have no problem with ati/amd , most people here know im a ati/amd fan, but im just being honest.

TBH The G80 was an exception - if you look at any other generation - the first batch of new cards have generally been quite ropey... take the 2900XT as an example ;)

hmm the 2900xt came a whiile after the 8800GTX? about 6 months

but yeah, the nvidia 5*00 were pretty bad. I remember a geforce 4 MX being faster than some of them

The GeForce 4 MX was basicly just a GeForce 2 if I remember, but the 5xxx series wasn't that bad.

The 5200 was about the same as the 4200Ti

True, but then in contrast the Radeon 9xxx series were awesome. Surely this DX generation it's ATi's turn again? :p

well this thread turned out well didnt it heh :)

i will put it down to the fact no one knows about ATIs DX11 cards yet.
so there for

what cards would be faster than 2x ati 4890s @1000/1150
want something faster ?

Im guessing going 2x 285s right but i would like to stick to dx10.1 lol as it would just mean taking a step back in my eyes anyway.
arghhh what a bad time it is for graphics card choices at the moment heh

Yeah but they were the first ATI offering of that generation...

The nVidia 5 series was dire - they were brutal at DX7 but try them at DX8 or 9 and they just cried... the only good cards imo was the 5950 ultra but it was way too late to the table and still relatively rubbish against the 9800 pro/xt and the Gainward 5900 XT GS as they would clock like crazy getting them back ahead of the 9800 cards in most but not all cases.

In would wait for reviews to come out which test the new cards of both vendors using DX11, if they're crap then wait some more or buy something else, if they are awesome then get them.
