So, I installed a pre-release of windows 7 (build 6956) on my laptop, and out of curiosity, I checked DXDiag, and it shown it had DX11 installed.

I was pretty supprised, but then it's useless really since there's no DX11 content, and my laptop isn't DX10 compatible, nevermind 11.

I was mainly supprised because I've got an earlier build of 7 on my main PC, build 6801, and that's only got DX10 as far as I know. Could 7 be nearing proper beta stages?

Anyway, for those who are interested, I've made a screenshot of it :D.

Linky

Anyone else running early builds of windows 7?

I've seen previews of Windoze 7 and mentions of DX11 but not seen any comments on whether you will need new gfx hardware.

Could be DX11 works on exisiting cards ???

I've heard it's just a subset of 10.1, so if your card is 10.1 compliant, it'll be compliant with 11 too, or so I've read. I can't remember where I read it, and how trustworthy the source was though.
