" As expected, a number of add-in board partners of ATI, graphics product group of Advanced Micro Devices, prepare ATI Radeon HD 2000-series graphics cards for accelerated graphics port (AGP) bus, which is featured on outdated personal computers. With Sapphire Technologies only getting the cards ready, GeCube has already started to sell them. "

Is there even a point to these? I mean even the top end cards are struggling atm, we know it will get better, but the bandwidth of AGP makes it pointless, surely?

and aren't these cards not too hot on the performance front?

still they can't be as bad as the fully dx9 compliant fx5200. :D

To be honest I'm not sure how much of a limit AGP 8x is. Even AGP 4x was fine for the gf6 series, sure newer cards may need a bit of extra bandwidth but it wouldn't surprise me to see AGP 8x remaining fairly competitive on midrange cards like the 2400/2600 series.
