Yeah I was using free download manager and kept getting corrupt file errors, switched to firefox's downloading and it was fine.

Any idea, if we need to install this on win 7 machines?

I rmeber in the past it has worked, but the last update, gave me an error, basically saying I had dx11 and was trying to install dx9 or something of that manor.

Yeah you can install it on win 7, ive installed feb 2010 build recently.

That's incorrect, you can clearly see updated DX10 and 11 dll's in the archive even as far back as 2007, with the latest update having both d3dx10_43.dll and d3dx11_43.dll.
