Dirt 2 benchmark?

is there a downloadable benchmark for this, if so where? I cannae find it anywhere..

Its in the menu already? You go to options and select benchmark. Easy. Runs a lap around the London Docklands circuit.

I thought it was only the demo that had a benchmarking option?

Anyway, if you've not got the full game you can grab the demo via Steam or Gamershell

i've got the steam full version and in the GFX option at the very bottom its there as an option.

I read somewhere you need to complete a few races before it appears, its something you unlock as you play the game..

Don't ask, codemasters are a weird bunch of guys at times. lol

ahh n1 i didnt know there was such a thing, i just ran it with 1920x1080 8xMSAA and everything set to ultra and got 101.0 minimum fps and 121.1 average, is that good? ive nothing to compare it with atm

Gives me something to look forward to i think when I can afford to upgrade again

my setup 2x3870 is pulling in 25.5 fps min and 34.5 fps average at Ultra 8xMSAA 1920x1200. I play at 2x aa with vsync which is a lot more tolerable at around 40fps average 30 min.

Well, i get 46fps AVG, 38 Min, with a 5970 and a QX9650@ 3.92 - so yea - thats good (like 300% bertter :confused:

At 1000/1150 a nice stable clock for games:

Dirt2 1920x1080, 4xAA, Ultra settings:

FPS - min = 41.7
FPS - ave = 56.6

Thats with an HD5670 crossfire setup. Something is up with yours.

Well, don't know what it is, as this is my SECOND fully working 5970 (last one was a XFX, this is a sapphire)...

Been told that a lot, that my frames are **VERY** low (in Dirt2), but i don't know why! - i just don't...

yeah dx11, somthing obviously not right with ur setup, maybe only 1 cores being used

Never thought about the cores, but i assume all four must be working? - will check the task manager(Alt+Tab during game) and see.

I think he means your 2 graphics cores.

Even a single 5970 core should beat 2x 5670s though.

Yeah he means the GPU cores, sure xfire is enabled? have you got the AA settings in the CCC set to application controlled.

he was @ 8xMSAA and 1920x1200 urs at lower res lower AA

Well all the sliders are to the left, except the "disable the catalyst AI" (thats to the right and is UNTICKED). AA/AF are ticked too (use application settings "2X" on each one is that right?.

Another game bench: "Crysis" (not warhead): Assault_Harbour/ 1920x1200 /Very High settings No AA/AF Avg 37 Min 20, Maxc 64

Other system specs: Striker II Formula (Nvidia chipset(!), Windows 7, 4GIG Ram (DDR2 Tracer Balistics) Vantage gets me 20,700 in GPU, 14700 CPU, with a "P" score of about 19300.

Can you check with GPU-Z and see what the bus interface says.

Nvidia chipset...ouch lol

There have been a few on here complaining about sub-par performance with the 5000 cards and Nvidia chipsets.
