Dirt 2 Black screen with 5770 ( doesnt hang )

I want to try dirt 2 on dx11 mode but now its just loading up, i see all the movies and adverts etc at the start, then i see the loading screen (black) and everything after that is black. I hear the sound in the background, i can hear me move around in the menus( i dont have a clue where im moving to because its a black screen).

whats wrong here?

Not sure, sound's like what happened when i overclocked my 5870.

Apparently disabling things like ATI high definition can fix it.

also i have the latest 10.1 drivers installed.

Go to start, type my games in the search programs and files box, hit the my games folder, go into the dirt 2 folder, then go into hardware settings folder and delete both files inside, close that and start dirt 2 , and set up your graphics options again.

to get dx11 mode do you just set everything to high and ultra?

Funny - I just swapped out a HD4850 for a GTX 460 and have this exact issue after changing Anti-Aliasing settings. Deleting the folders in the hardware settings folder worked but the game now freezes when I try to quit (it didn't before). Used to have no issues at all on HD4850.

Also getting flickering shadows in cockpit view, which never happened before. That seemed to be the only problem when playing for the first time with the GTX 460 but then changed settings and the fun started!

Other games have been fine so far so going for a reinstall of DIRT2 to see if that helps.
