Dirt 2 Eyefinity + G25 = AWESOME!

Overdid BC2 earlier in the easter wknd so strapped my G25 to the desk and gave Dirt2 its first test on Eyefinity yesterday just OMG!!! :eek: !!! It's brilliant - the game is pretty good and very challenging with the G25 (loving the power slides!) especially like the rally mode with co-driver instructions and being able to see out the side windows (prefer cockpit view) is just awesome.

I have a problem tho, after an inconsistent amount of time the game freezes and the screens go different colours (black beige and grey, 1 each) and i have to force quit through CTRL+ALT+DEL end task. Sometimes it gives the error Displayport link failure message or GPU has recovered popup in system tray (should really have taken some pictures). Anyone know the cause or how to fix this?

It's a Steam game but it let me apply patch 1.1 manually but havent tried it since update. Running 5870 on 10.3 betas.

I have a 5970 + eyefinity and seem to be able to run Dirt 2 fine. Im using the 10.3 betas and Dirt 2 is fresh of steam.

I agree though it is immense!

got my G27 coming tomorrow but no eyefinity yet, got the screens but debating on cards i was holding out for 2 5870 2GB Toxics but i dont know if i can do it lol :D
 
I dunno what you guys see, but the graphics don't impress me. They look like the same graphics I used to play with around 3-4 years ago lol. Other then that I like the screen setup. Also some product reviewer site were using 4 x crossfire on hd5850 and I swear I don't know what they were going crazy about, because the graphics didn't look any better than what I've seen 2 years ago.

It looks much better moving.. the lighting is quite good and the sense of speed is good. I agree though its nothing amazing. Im into iRacing really so my set up is put to good use! ;)

It went from 3-4 to 2 years ;)

The game looks nice and its really good fun to play, if you like racing games check it out!!! :)

I am now really tempted to go crazy and do something like this it must be an awesome set up to have!!! :)

Lol dude the year gap was because I was talking about two different graphic card setups.

I think your bank manager would have to cancel his pension if you bought 2 of those :P
 
yeah creed i have looked at that review but it says on 2gb's that it is a lot smoother and this build is one i do every 2-3 years and do spend a lot on it too future proof it for as long as possible so i decided to do 2 x 5870 2gb's for now and when drivers are optimised and if i run out of grunt then i can add another 5870 2gb or a 5970.
