Hi Peeps,

I got a free copy of Dirt 2 over Steam (had never used steam before) with my 5850. D/L'd it and it works great but there are a couple of issues...

1) The main issue is it won't accept my Windows Live ID. I use it for Windows live messenger (msn to me lol) and I don't have an x-box or anythin' but when I go to use it on Dirt 2 it says that my network is either down or windows live isn't valid or working... Is this a common issue on steam? or am I doing something wrong?
This is annoying as it means I can't save my game! (which is just stupid really)

2) Do I really have to sign into Steam every time I want to play!? It seems I have to go into it any time I want to launch the game...

Cheers!
Howie.

It's common on GFWL and is usually something to do with NAT or the Firewall on your router if I remember correctly.

Have a look here and see if anything there solves your problem :)

Any game on Steam is ran through Steam so yes, you have to be logged into Steam, keep logged in all the time and start Steam with Windows.

As for Windows Live ID, was a pain for me too but once your logged in the stay logged in.

I have more of a problem with the sound, replay music loops, co-driver is either out of sink or not talking at all, other drivers speech is missing or not complete. Its a dog of a game and its never ran fully working on my pc.

It's funny how any thing linked to GFWL has NAT issues but never anything else, with Steam only getting more popular I don't see why Microsoft continues to bother with GFWL
