DiRT 2

Couldn't find any info on this, so thought I'd make my own thread, who else is looking forward to this? As a big fan of Codemasters racing games (not FUEL, that wasn't made by them!) I intend on getting DiRT 2 on release day (11th September) even though I'll then get it on PC too at xmas to see what dx11 is like.

Looks like they're sorting out multiplayer too

Had a look at a video that's currently showing on Live. Looks very good. One thing they didn't mention on there, is that they're dumbing down the damage and making it cosmetic only. Not sure if there's an opt-out for this, and if it applies to the whole of the game.

So, a step up in the graphics and multi, but a step backwards in the realism.

Hmm, thats rather annoying, use to love the massive crashes that could happen, followed by a 307 that would go in any direction as long as it wasn't right :s

i have just preorderd this as well, looks a lot of fun i realy liked the first one

whats every one getting it on ive gone for ps3 version, hoping the multiplayer has more to it now.

shame the pc one had to be delayed so long

I have a PS3 and this is one I have been looking at .. Keep me going while I wait for GT5 to be out

As for FUEL I was lucky and it worked out for me as my pre order got messed up.

I'm quite interested as to what it will bring to the PC version, I hope for a few extra things but I dunno, as long as it just runs smooth and works I suppose I'll be happy.....

I just hope that they have sorted the multiplayer element. Single player was great in the first one but online was very poor.

I think the last couple of codemasters racers have been less than inspiring.
Grid and DiRT were very lack lustre in everything bar how pretty there were.

I have Grid but find it very hard to drive with the wheel (G25), GT5 prologue is very nice and much more what you expect.

Not been on Dirt but have a few mates that have had it and say it was very good so looking out for Dirt2 just hope they have not messed it up

Anyone been looking at supercar challenge ?.

Nah I think they're pretty dam good and many agree, I think Codemasters knew they couldnt compete with the likes of GT5 and Forza and so went down a slightly more arcadey route...

Only problem with CM is there after support, Take GRID for example they announced a patch way over 6 months ago and where is it? nowhere to be seen, if you happen to play grid online you'll be aware its full of cheats.. -.-

But they can do, my main gripe is the fact they have tried to be diverse in the type of cars and races, but dont offer a great deal of choice in either so they all end up being very shallow.
