70-80 seems awfully low for a 5870 in DX9 mode.

I get 45-50 with a 4850 with max settings and 4AA.

I haven't needed to turn crossfire on for this as the framerate with just one card is more than good enough.

This game isn't as good as Dirt 1 or the Colin Mcrae games, but it's not 'crap' as you put it. It's still an enjoyable racing experience, but it just has a lot of fail blended in.

His mad skills must have overwhelmed the game into oblivion never to work again after 6 tacks in that case.

if its anything like the old one arcade like its painful

I wouldn't call the tracks boring through or at least not what I seen of it, and yes hard game to master with a keyboard
