Dirt 3 problem

Have been searching for a while but to no avail as to why my copy of dirt 3 on steam will not load up. It downloaded and installed ok but when I click play nothing happens. Has anyone else had this problem?

Bc you need to install windows live and have an account

Yes found a codemasters post that shows that fact. Why is it not mentioned in the download at any point, would have saved a lot of time. Thanks anyway
