Dirt or Flatout

Probably gonna get myself a new 360 (I had one before (see sig) but sold it because there was nothing I wanted to play) but want to know which racing game to get. Don't say Forza because it already comes with that for free (and Crackdown) and I prefer arcade racing rather than sims.

I'm not really interested in the online side of racing though may have the odd go so that shouldn't be taken into account.

I have played and loved the TOCA series, though not played and of the Colin McRae games and also loved Flatout on the PC. At the moment I'm swaying towards Dirt but not sure.

So which one should I get with it?
 
DiRT and Flatout 2 are very different, you can't really compare.

Flatout 2 is a fast, unrealistic fun game.
DiRT is still very fun, but it's more simulationy than Flatout ;)
I love them both :)
 
Looks like Flatout might be what I go for but my only issue is the SP game on the original was way too short. Is the new game the same? Do the side games give any lasting appeal?

The game is still a bit short. The side games are fun, but I don't think they'll last as long as you'd like them to.
 
PGR3!

Can be had for cheap and its a brilliant arcade racer!

There is a demo for dirt on xbox live if you want to try before you buy as well.

Played and finished PGR3. It was the first game I owned on the 360!

I'll probably go for Flatout.
 
Flatout :D

'Career mode' is probably a touch short but really good fun playing.

The new Carnage mode should keep you busy for a while (Stunts, Deathmatch Derbies etc.)

The game really shines online and gets big laughs everytime so might be worth reconsidering the online play idea - much chaos, carnage, fun and sillyness and pretty much no competitive attitude :)
 
I know, I know. I rarely get time for online play TBH.

I *might* be on tonight sometime :)

I went to get a 360 today and when I got there decided not to buy anything. I kept looking at pics of the Elite and thinking, hmmm should I wait for one of those?? Typical indecisive me. :rolleyes:
