Money is actually spent on 'research' such as this?
What stumps me is the all the rubbish about it being unrealistic and giving young people an unrealistic view of how war is conducted. If people are really stupid enough to believe video games all the time we'd have a host of new recruits for the army who complain about their wounds not healing in 30 seconds, inability to reload a magazine in 3 seconds, shoot 5 guys at 400m with one magazine etc.
Everyone knows that being in the army is just life fps, except it has better graphics.
And the medkits are nowhere near as good.....
Next they will be banning Father Christmas as it encourages people to break into houses down chimneys.
They have an age rating on the game. Its up to parents to educate their children.
That is why they invented splitscreen. You get to kill with your kids and show them how to do it. (Or they show you)
So I take it taking into account the findings of this well put together piece of research they will now also carry out similar studies into films and other visual media?
Pro Juvenile and Trial are particularly worried about the alleged violations within videogames because war games – unlike books or films - require the player to take an active role.
So, wait a moment they are worried about seeing some blood in WAR games? So why don't they look at filims and all that, that have a bit more gore in them than any game at this moment in time
well thats war for ya isnt it.....they do need to get a life
