Dirty Decrypt

Oh man, this is being a pain. had a friends laptop infected, managed to clean it off and thought all was well. However his word (and only word) documents wont load up as they are encrypted.

anyone got around this or have experience with this ransomware/virus

yep seems that way, goes to show you have to have a backup away from your pc. so many people i know have SSD's and backup on to a secondary internal HD... if that's the case you would be in the same boat as my mate.

subscribed to a few threads and hopefully a solution will come about, all his files open apart from word ones, just read some dude had 60gb of photo's lost to it. it infected his backup drive as well...

Seriously what a horrible thing to do via malware, why couldn't they just stop at the porn pop ups!
