Disable formatting i xp

Hi forum

,

I have had a lot of problems with people at work accidently formatting their harddirve instead of their pen drive or an external drive, is their away to disable the formatting command in windows????

Wasn't aware that you could easily format a Windows system hard drive from within Windows.

I think it can be done using gpedit to disable their ability to format. IIRC power users under XP dont have rights to format but I might be wrong.

If you have the technical knowledge to be able to format Windows from Windows (something I don't know is possible) then I don't believe you could do it accidentally. Formatting another partition is however possible and easy to do.
