Is it possible for the i5's graphics to kick in during game play? if so can it be disabled? I have a GTX 580 and don't want the computer to ever switch from the dedicated card to on board.

It could happen if the GPU dies.
99% of the time, the onboard is disabled when a GPU is installed anyway, unless it has hybrid Xfire (for ATi).

Oh right, i'm using Asus p8z68 deluxe but only have problems with one game which is PURE using 3D vision, most of time it runs very smooth but after a while it starts to stutter which is very anoying.
I was worried that the processor might be getting too hot and thermal throttling so I run core temp for an hour while playing and the hottest it got was 55c so don't think it's that. What else could cause this problem?
