Disable itunes on windows startup?

How can I Disable itunes on windows startup :confused:

iTunes shouldn't be starting up when windows starts, do you have an iPod or similar Apple device connected during bootup?

Yes, just got a new dock for the ipod and leave it connected. So the only way is to disconnect then?

No, you just deselect the option for iTunes to open when the device is plugged in.

To elaborate further, you need to got Start > Run - then type msconfig - go to the Startup tab and untick iTunes.

Very easy to see which programmes have decided to run in the background on start up without you knowing.

Unfortunately none of these will work in this case as iTunes does not register itself as a automatic service nor place itself in the Startup folder.

You need to do as Memphis said, find the option in iTunes to prevent it opening when an iPod is plugged in, it should be under the iPod tab when you plug it in.

Something doesnt add up.

A) The dock alone shouldnt boot up iTunes. What dock have you got because my official apple one technically is just a weight with a USB extender to it.. nothing more.. nothing less..
B) Turning off the automatic open when you plug in your iPod shouldnt stop the iPod from showing up all together.

Well with or without the dock its the same. Its also an official apple dock MA594G/A. maybe because they both old gen 2 thats causing the probs idk.

Im going to be left with no more hair, its driving me crazy lol
