Disable laptop's touchpad.

I'm one of those people preferring to have a mouse connected to my laptop, and because my hands keep brushing the touchpad whilst typing I want to disable it.

However, even though it works, I can't find it in the control panel. In the device manager it appears as a PS2 mouse which I can uninstall, however when I do that it reinstalls itself automatically. I've just installed Windows 7 on my Sony Vaio VGN-NS30E. Sony's website doesn't give me anything neither do the manuals.

Does anybody have any idea about what to do? Or whether I could install some external software that can access it at all?

downlaod and install the drivers for it... the touchpad will work with no driver, but if you install the driver you get an extra tab in the properties of the mouse (and usually an icon in the sys tray...)

im assuming you dont have a button to turn it off, or a key press that will...

There should be an option in the touchpad software to disable it

EDIT: There might also be an option on one of the 'fn' keys to disable the touchpad

Thanks lads. I tried the Vista drivers which worked fine in Win 7. An extra tab did appear in the mouse properties and I've been able to disable the touchpad.
