Hey,

Just wondered if it was at all possible to disabled speedstep? More specifically, any advice on how to do this on my DS3 would be greatly appreciated.

Im in the same boat trojan698,got that motherboard also and cannot find out how to shut speedstep down,im thinking a bios update will help as i can only do 11x with the F3 bios :/

Try setting to "always on" in the screensaver panel, the thing at the bottom about power, that does it for my amd64 and you can use cpuz to verify

Ok here is what ive done to get this sorted.

Go to Advanced Bios Features
Disable the following

1/Cpu Enhanced Halt (C1E)
2/Cpu Thermal Monitor 2 (TM2)
3/Cpu EIST Function.

Cpuz will now show the correct cpu speed :D

Aye we should :)
Took me a while to get used to the DFI bios (AMD) but this intel marlarky is all new to me. :D

It's saved me cooking the cpu a few times, usually just crashes the machine when overclocking though which is another way of cooling things down I guess

I did the same as this with my DQ6 but i left the TM2 on.

I think this is the overheat throttle protection, correct me if i'm wrong?
