disable touchpad on the Asus X55C ?

Cant disable the touchpad on the Asus X55C, its doing my Mrs head in as she keeps hitting it with the bottom parts of the palms of her hands when typing, so it is rather annoying.

Surely there has to be a way to disable this thing permanently ?

Does anyone know please ?

I have tried some of the usual ideas on the internet like pressing fn/f9 etc but it doesn't work, so I am stuck.

I would image that it surely can be switched off though, no ?

I thought it must not be possible and that's why no one posted, cause I cant find out how to do it either, I find stories that people claim they have done it but when you try what they say it they are talking rubbish, its still strange though that it cant be disabled , that's if it defo cant ? hmmmm

Definitely either FN & F9 or just F9 by itself. If that doesn't work then I can only assume the drivers aren't properly installed.

doesn't work mate, tried it, that's what lots of people on the internet tried too and most said didn't work too

Only one thing for it, strip it down and unplug the bloody thing

got it, it was an option hiding in the Bios believe it or not Sorted
