does anyone know how to disable the pointing device in the keyboard on a laptop through the registry?

for some reason i have no options in mouse under control panel for enabling/disabling the pointer and touchpad. its very strange. i was just wondering if there was a reg key that controls it as i cant find it. also, when i have removed it from device manager it just re-installs itself as a device on reboot.

you shouldnt go near the registry for this. have another look thru the BIOS, it'll be hidden there somewhere. it might reference PS/2 ports instead of Mouse Pointer or something equally unhelpful.
