Disabling onboard graphics

Iv'e got a 4850 and I have ordered a new PC for it to fit into. Because I already have a card waiting I have just brought a PC that has onboard graphics.

Should I install the card before I disable the onboard graphics or disable the onboard graphics first or does it not matter either way?

Yes it is a storebuilt one but I found a store that lets you pick all the componants from scratch and they check everything is compatible and put it together for you.
