Disabling ping on a cisco switch

Is it possible to set a cisco router not to reply to a ping request through a web browser?

A ping request through a web browser? Eh?

And yes, you want to put it on an access control list of some sort. Which router?

Sorry, yep switches. A bit rushed today.

Currently this is what happens.

Opening a web browser on the internal network, typing in the ip address and the username and password dialogue box opens up.

I want to disable this feature

That's nothing to do with ping...

You'll be able to block traffic with destination port 80 and the switches' IP.

I have the cisco software on my pc. What i want is for the switch not to reply when someone types in its ip address into their web browser. i.e not display the username/password dialogue box

Hope this is clear

Not really.

Do you want the HTTP server disabled? or just available to you?
