Disabling R5450 GPU and using onboard GPU instead

Hi,

I have recently bought a cheap 2nd hand ATI R5450 Graphics card. Only reason being is that I needed the VGA port so I could hook my monitor up to it. I still want to use my on board graphics for when I'm gaming... I've had a look in my BIOS settings but haven't had any luck so far.

I changed the 'On board VGA' setting in BIOS to [Always Enable] - (Enable onboard GPU even GPU exists in the PEG slot) but it was still detecting my GPU in my PCI-E 16x slot.

I don't mind having my R5450 enabled, I just want to use onboard as my default GPU for gaming. My mobo is a 'Gigabyte XKT-1155 Z68AP-D3 Motherboard (Rev 1.0)'

Any ideas anyone? Thanks.

Is there not any settings with the motherboard software that will have come with your motherboard. I'd say its a setting in Windows you'll need to change however can you n ot just use the HDMI port on your motherboard to hook up your monitor with the appropriate adapter?

I completely missed the obvious and got it working eventually. All I had to do was unplug the VGA cable from my graphics card... lol.

Cheers anyway.
