Disappearing shortcuts & kboard prog

Hi all,

Need a little help for 2 problems.

1st - A friend has had all his shortcuts stop working, even when deleted and receated they dont work. Tried registry fixit, virus scans etc and its a new hdd which scans ok. Any ideas?

2nd - I want to be able to program my keyboard so that in one keypress it opens up my volume properties and changes from mic- line in as an input (for TV card/skype changeover).

Any help would be aprieciated.

Anyone any ideas with the shortcut problem?

most likely a file association problem with the .lnk file type have a look under Tools>Folder Options>File Types tab in any explorer window to see if the file type has been changed or removed.
