- first 0f all i ap0ligize f0r the l33t speak, my 0 butt0n 0n the lapt0p is br0ke -

I have a BT ph0ne line with BE br0adband as my supplier, i am 0n a cracking 8mb value pack f0r £6.90 a m0nth, i 0nly can get ab0ut 4mb max anyway s0 n0 need t0 g0 higher than 8mb package.

Ever since i m0ved int0 this flat i had t0 get bt ph0ne line as virgin isnt in my area :( ,

basically any time i j0in a c0unter strike s0urce, l4d or l4d2 server i can stay 0n the l0bby f0r any peri0d 0f time, the leader 0f the l0bby clicks start and my game begins t0 l0ad. I then get the brief l4d intr0 sequence depending 0n the map im playing and the almost instantly after we start i get the disc0nnected fr0m server msg which then kicks me after 30 sec0nds.

Im basically timing out almost exactly 30 sec0nds after im "in" the server. H0wever after this has happened i als0 l0se my internet c0nnecti0n f0r maybe a minute then im fine after that. In css, 0nce i time, i wait a bit, type retry in c0ns0le and i can stay 0n the server indefinatly with n0 pr0blems.

In l4d/2 i really struggle t0 find servers i can actually play 0n! i strangely seem t0 be n0t t00 bad if i just select quick game but g0ing thr0ugh a l0bby i can alm0st guarentee i ll time 0ut.

Is there any0ne that can help me with this issue, im at w0rk atm but can p0st up any inf0rmati0n y0u require when i get h0me at 5.

Thanks,

eXist

This is for the standard "BeBoxes".

1. Follow this link to the router configuartion page:
http://192.168.1.254/cgi/b/bandr/?ce...BACKUP_RESTORE

2.Enter username & password (default is Administrator, with password left blank)

3. Select Backup Configuration Now.... Don't close this window

You should now have a user.ini file containing your router configuration options.

4. open it in Notepad. Go to Edit , Find and search for appconfig application=GAME(UDP)

You should see three entries regarding UDP. You need to change them to:

appconfig application=GAME(UDP) trace=enabled timeout=3
appconfig application=CONE(UDP) trace=enabled timeout=3
appconfig application=LOOSE(UDP) trace=enabled timeout=3

Now again, go to Edit , Find and this time search for timerconfig timer=udpidle

You should change this entry to:

timerconfig timer=udpidle value=3

5. Save that user.ini file to the desktop. Switch back to the Speedtouch router page and select Restore Configuration Now....

6. Use the router dialog to locate and select the user.ini file that you have modified. The router should upload the file.

7. Once configuration is uploaded, restart your router and all 'Connection Problem' or Server list crashes or Restarting of the BeBox due to UDP flooding in CSS and other games should be FIXED.

I would also like to mention that I have the BeBox firewall set to Standard in the BeBox router page Toolbox.

w0w thx f0r all 0f that, h0pefully that will s0lve my pr0blem, i was 0rignally using the bt h0mehub but quickly dr0pped BT as the price/service was cack, will give that be b0x ini file a g0 and rep0rt back if it w0rks .

thx, :)

have an internet c00kie 0n me! ( n0t redeemable anywere )

This is why I hate Thomson/Technicolor routers, they always interfere with Source games!

Alternative:

Code:
Telnet to router
connection unbind application=GAME(UDP) port=27010-27011
saveall
