Anybody know (or know where I can find out) what, if any, of Intel's C2D's are being discontinued after the price drop? I could do with knowing before deciding on final CPU choice and when to actually order the parts !!!

Cheers.

wel according the the price charts nothing will be discontinuied as they are all on there showing new prices

Oh?

I'd heard there were some being discontinued, the E6400 being one of them and since the E6420 is already priced under it then based on assumption the E6400's days could be numbered. It might explain why there are a few older and slower CPU's priced higher than their newer counterparts. The prices of discontinued stock probably won't change !?!?!

Maybe ;)

Even if they are not a discontinued line the 6300 & 6400 are poor value vs. there new counterparts.

If you are not making a decision based on one of those two chips then just wait for the proper cuts to come into effect next week.

yeah Intel doesnt discontinue as such, as some companies fix to a cpu for 12-18 months, so we have to make have them available.

However because there is a higher spec for same price, most people consider the lower spec to be EOL.
