Anyone here, ever have bloody annoying issues with Discord for example when you do a fresh windows install and have to re-install Discord?

  • Cannot login with 2FA (Because Authy is not showing Discord anymore!)
  • Backup Codes given to me at account creation have expired
  • Not receiving SMS (Contacted Discord and Giffgaff) as not receiving the text even though the number is correct (both blaming each other) with no real solution.
So as of right now, I cant even login to my own discord..Support has been non-supportive!

Wondering if anyone one else has not received the SMS message and if so how did you fix it?

Ask Giffgaff to reset your phone/sim setting. I had similar for all sites with EE, once they have done that restart your phone. Also I don't think back up codes expire, you sure you didn't generate new ones?

Your first mistake is using Authy, it's no longer recommended to use them and they even had security breaches last year. Other options like Ente and 2FAS are good alternatives and even allows you to export an offline backup of your codes.

As for your Discord issue, do you have it installed on your phone and still signed in by any chance? There should be an option to sign in via QR code, open Discord on the PC and on the login page there should be a scannable QR code. On the app go to Settings -> Scan QR code and it should allow you to sign in.

As Jim mentioned backup codes don't expire unless you generated new ones. Sounds like something messed up with your 2FA.

Just asked them this via message thanks, I know their actual website advises you to do this, However on my device it wont actually join another network on the network settings ,Vodaphone,EE etc are greyed out and says denied..so i cant try this work around on my end has to be done by them.

Didn't know that about Authy, I mean could make sense why discord is no longer showing on there for me.
Thing is, Unless i can actually get back into my discord account i cant set up a new 2FA such as the mentioned Ente or 2FAS :(
I don't have Discord on my phone no, Was only on my Desktop.

As for Generated codes, Could be yeah...this is what's annoying though again surely Discord support on their end could generate me some new codes and send it through to my email registered with the account,As support themselves would never actually see these codes, I honestly feel like I've gotten the laziest Discord support guy ever. Clearly doesn't read what I've put in the message as he suggests stuff I've mentioned I've tried!
I've even asked him to escalate the issue higher up...crickets.
