Discrepency in temperatures

Im getting 35* for my I7 860 temp in my Asus mobo's bios monitoring during the startup - only gives one figure.
In everest, the cores idle at 15* (watercooled)
I know temp sensors at different places can give differences of around 5* - but anyone know why i'd get a 20* difference?

Have you tried any other programmes to monitor temps in Windows environment (Core Tempt, Intel TAT, etc)?
